Dementia Action Week 16 – 22 September

September 11, 2019

September is Dementia Awareness month and this year, Dementia Action Week (16 – 22 September) is spotlighting discrimination and dementia.

Dementia Australia is calling on all Australians to consider how discrimination impacts people living with dementia, their families and carers.

In 2019, there is over 440,000 Australians living with dementia, and an estimated 250 people join the population with dementia each day.

Nobody chooses to have dementia but we can choose how we respond to the people in our lives and in our community who are living with dementia.

For more information about dementia, ask your GP or visit Dementia Australia.

You can also attend the 2019 Illawarra Dementia Forum at the Fraternity Club, Fairy Meadow on Wednesday 25th September from 10am to 3pm. Tickets are free but registrations are essential via this link: Eventbrite
