Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

//Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

Ovarian cancer can be difficult to diagnose because the symptoms are nonspecific and are similar to common symptoms of less serious health problems.

Women diagnosed with ovarian cancer report most frequently:

  • Abdominal or pelvic pain.
  • Increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating.
  • Needing to urinate often or urgently.
  • Feeling full after eating a small amount.

Bulli Medical Practice encourages any women who have experienced these symptoms multiple times during a 4-week period to make an appointment to see a GP.

Ovarian Cancer Australia

Ovarian Cancer Australia has a Symptom Diary which can help you to monitor your symptoms. You can then take the completed diary to your doctor to assist with diagnosis.

Get involved with Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month by taking part in their events, purchasing a ribbon on Teal Ribbon Day, or making a donation.
